i just heard someone playing 'joyful, joyful we adore thee' on a flute as they walked down the street.  it made me smile.  i have been pretty sick for a few days now hence the lack of updates.  my body really doesn't seem to like Nicaragua all that much.  tomorrow i'll be talking to a doctor in the US, so hopefully I can figure out something.  anyhow, let's see what I've left out about the past

so it's a bit past one o'clock on wednesday. day 3 of classes.  i am sitting on our porch enjoying a breeze (finally!).  randomly cars drive down the street with speakers on top blaring out music and voices.  the drivers here really are crazy... stop signs don't really mean much.  they exist, but they aren't really obeyed.  the craziest is the many bicycles and motercycles that weave in and out

hola!  computer dying, and we can't get to the charger presently, so this'll be FAST... we're safe, enjoyed mass en espanol today, toured the street market, and are now enjoying some breezes on the front porch of mi casa.  anyhoo, more later, when i have battery power.  = )

yay! we have arrived. it is friggin hot here, sweaty already and i have determined pants and long sleeves may be a bad idea despite the bug warnings... we´ll see, you never know i might get used to it. all went well in traveling today- we were on time to everything. michelle beeped at LaGuardia and i got searched in Managua, but all is well, and we are safely to our home in Granada.

2 days to go. travel plans thus far:tonight -> drive from rochester to new paltz.friday -> rest & hang with the family.saturday -> drive to lga, fly to miami, fly to managua, nicaragua; drive to granada, nicaragua.and thus the adventure begins.
